Upper Depot At Home

The first four Upper Depot cans have officially arrived — built from the beers, people, and stories that helped shape this place from the start.

Why Upper Depot Exists

Beer, atmosphere, and a place people actually wanted to stay.

Upper Depot was never meant to be a place where you stop in for one drink and head out. From the beginning, the goal was to brew the beer we believed in and build somewhere that felt genuinely fun to spend time in.

When the train station in Hudson came into view, it clicked. The building already had character. It didn’t need an identity forced onto it — it already had one.

Aaron Maas

“I wanted to brew whatever beer I wanted to brew. But just as important, I wanted to build a place that was actually fun to hang out in.”

Rooted in Hudson

Built for the community.

Upper Depot could have opened somewhere else. It almost did. But Hudson made more sense — it was home, it was where the people were, and it was where this kind of place could actually mean something.

Over time, that idea became real. People made Upper Depot part of their routines. They brought friends here. They stayed a while. That was always the point.

“We wanted to create something that felt like it belonged here. Not some generic brewery that could be anywhere, but a place people in Hudson could actually connect with and feel proud of.”

Why Cans, Why Now

A long time coming — and worth doing right.

People had been asking for cans since day one. Not because the taproom wasn’t enough, but because they wanted to bring Upper Depot with them — to a friend’s house, to a fridge at home, to someone who had not made it in yet.

This launch was never about rushing into packaging for the sake of it. It was about waiting until it could be done in a way that actually felt right.

“We didn’t want to rush into it just to say we had cans. If we were going to do this, we wanted to do it right.”

“The taproom is always going to be the heart of what we do, but this lets the beer go a little farther.”

The First Four

The beers that felt like the right place to begin.

The first lineup was not chosen to check boxes. Each beer already carried a story, a memory, or a person that mattered to this place. That is what made the decision easy.

The Stories Behind the Cans

People, memories, and things that have been part of this place from the start.

Pete’s Pilsner

Named for Pete — an absolute legend here, and someone who has put more into this place than almost anyone.

Shop the Cooler Stout

A name tied to Aaron’s old culinary school advisor — a phrase that stuck, and one that carries personal history with it.

Henry Houndson IPA

Named after Aaron's Basset Hound, one of the best boys — a beer tied to the dogs that have been part of the Upper Depot from the beginning.

Bravo, Argos! Hazy IPA

A cheer for Alex's Norwegian Buhund, Argos. Another favorite pup, and another beer that felt personal enough to belong in the very first run.

“If these were going to be the first beers people took home from Upper Depot, we wanted them to feel like us.”

The taproom is still the heart of Upper Depot. Now you can bring a little of it home, too.
